Ruth Eetuk of Coral Harbour snapped this photo of women from the Kivalliq community preparing pipsi on a local beach last summer. “Making Pipsi” was selected as the winning photo in the Qullit Nunavut Status of Women Council’s photo contest this year, in recognition of International Women’s Day (March 8.) An exhibition of photos entered in this year’s contest were on display at Iqaluit’s Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum last month. Eetuk received $1,000 for her winning entry. (PHOTO BY R. EETUK)
