Photo: NWT forest fire smoke blows North

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Smoke from some of the 160 forest fires burning across the Northwest Territories travelled as far as communities in Nunavut's Kivalliq region this past week. This hazy scene was shot over Rankin Inlet July 15. But while residents might smell the smoke, it hasn't spurred any of the health warnings issued in communities across the NWT, where heavy smoke has kept residents indoors. (PHOTO BY JIMI ONALIK)
