These mountains in southern Greenland contain some of the oldest rocks on earth, scientists say. Researchers who have been studying ancient rocks found on the southwestern coast of Greenland believe these rocks were once part of a deep sea mud volcano, part of an environment which created the conditions for early marine life to form four billion years ago.
