Photo: Oonark print sale price sets new record

This untitled pencil crayon drawing by the late Baker Lake artist Jessie Oonark sold for $14,160 at a Nov. 13 in Ottawa. “We think that’s a record for an Inuit art drawing,” said Inuit art specialist Ingo Hessel for Walker’s Auctions. Roughly two hundred pieces of Inuit art sold that day, pulling in about $500,000, making it among the largest sales of Inuit art ever. (PHOTO COURTESY OF WALKER’S AUCTIONS)
