Members of the Cambridge Bay Canadian Rangers packed up their qamutiit Jan. 24 and took off, around sunrise, for a five-day exercise on the land near Ellis River. The days are quickly getting longer above the Arctic Circle with the sun coming up around 10 a.m. in Cambridge Bay and going down around 2:30 p.m. According to Environment Canada, temperatures today were expected to reach a high of -24 C with overnight lows this week ranging from -30 C to -35 C.
