Photo: Pauktuutit delegates set priorities for the coming year

After hearing reports from regional representatives around the table March 13, the last day of the Pauktuutit annual general meeting, Rebecca Kudloo, Pauktuutit president, left, encouraged delegates to lobby local, territorial and federal representatives to fund women’s programs, since women’s health directly affects the health of families. Regional representatives from around Inuit Nunangat said many social ills in their communities — family violence, addiction, mental health problems — can be traced back to residential school abuse and the pain that victims have passed down to their children.
