Photo: Peregrine shows off high grade kimberlite

These three diamonds are among many found within the second batch of bulk sample material recovered from the Peregrine Diamonds Ltd. CH-6 kimberlite pipe, part of the Chidliak project near Iqaluit. The eight-sided stone in the middle of this picture weighs in at 8.87 carats. In an announcement Jan. 16, Peregrine said the 182.1 tonne bulk sample, extracted last year, produced a grade of 2.87 carats per tonne.
