Photo: Pilot project to tailor ice info for Arctic communities

Matt Arkett, manager remote sensing for the Canadian Ice Service, explains Nov. 14 how satellite images, plus other technologies, have vastly improved not only our ability to read Arctic ice in real time, but predict how it will grow, change and travel. The CIS is now embarking on a three-year pilot project to gauge the feasibility of tailoring real-time ice data for each of Canada’s northern communities. See story later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
