Photo: Projet Karibu arrives in Kuujjuaq

Members of Project Karibu—Jacob Racine, Bruno-Pierre Couture, Sébastien Dugas and Marie-Andrée Fortin—cross country ski into Kuujjuaq May 5, accompanied by students from the local Jaanimmarik high school, who skied out to greet them. The four Projet Karibu members left Montreal December 27, 2013, and had been skiing towards Kuujjuaq for the last four months. The group followed in the footsteps—or ski trails—of five Québecois skiiers, a group called Expédition Québec who, in 1980, skied from Mont Tremblant to Kuujjuaq. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
