Photo: “Ptarmigans” get a nod in CamBay photo contest

A pair of ptarmigans enjoy the spring sunshine near Cambridge Bay. “Ptarmigans” by Iva Kinclova took home the first prize in the wildlife category of the 2012 Omingmak Frolics’ photo contest. Entries to the photo contest, open to Cambridge Bay residents, had to show scenes in and around the western Nunavut community. You’ll see more of the winning photos later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
