Photo: Puvirnituq youth promote better living

Members of Puvirntuq’s PUV Stepping Nerds Crew 2 and 3 show off their new tee-shirts March 24, which feature an illustration of a child hugging their home. The crew — and tee-shirts — were created under the Kativik Municipal Housing Bureau’s Pivallianiq program, which encourages better care and maintenance of Nunavik’s social housing. Pivallianiq street workers lead sports and cultural activities with Nunavik youth, like the PUV Stepping Nerds, who performed their hip hop dance and traditional skillls March 25 at Puvirnituq’s Snow Festival.
