Photo: Qaggiavuut society hosts spoken word summit in Iqaluit

Lasaloosie Ishulutak tells the story of his Avaala, the song he sings to lull seal pups while he hunts them, to a spoken word event called Arctic Breath, held in Iqaluit this past weekend. The Qaggiavuut Society for a Nunavut performing arts centre hosted artists young and old in Iqaluit Mar. 2, in a show that included traditional Inuit storytelling, poetry and hip hop rhyming.
