Cape Dorset elder Qaunaq Mikigak teaches Julie Alivaktak how to throat sing at a winter workshop hosted by the Iqaluit-based Qaggiavut Society. The Arctic Inspiration prize-winning Qaggiq project has launched teacher training for performing artists who are interesting in developing arts programing to children and youth in communities across the Arctic. The workshop will be held in Iqaluit July 14 to July 19 and feature sessions with Igloolik actor and drum dancer Pakak Innuksuk, and Pond Inlet theatre director Sheena Akoomalik.
