Photo: Qalliniit on display

Beautiful beadwork: Here’s a collection of qalliniit — the beaded tongues that go on kamiks — made in recent months by Kuujjuaq elder Dorothy Mesher, 83. Mesher, a well-known seamstress in Nunavik, is also the author of the book Kuujjuaq – Memories and Musing. She has 14 children and over 100 grandchildren — one of whom captured her beadwork in this print. You can order a copy of this or other prints by contacting Tanya Innaarulik on Facebook.
