Say cheese: This snowy owl is spotted navigating a highway outside of Montreal Jan. 3. Quebec’s Transport Minister Robert Poeti tweeted this image Jan. 7, captured by Transport Quebec surveillance cameras along highway A-40, just west of Montreal. Snowy owls breed north of the Arctic Circle, but migrate farther south in the winter months. The birds have been spotted in more southerly locations, like southern Quebec and Ontario, in recent years, where they are likely on the hunt for more food sources.
