Photo: Rankin Inlet gets walloped with snow

Are you having trouble seeing what’s happening in this photo? So was the person who took it just outside of the CBC building in Rankin Inlet. A blizzard has been raging in Rankin since March 20, burying the community in snowdrifts and pushing this utility pole to the side. The community’s schools, Government of Nunavut offices and banks were all closed March 21 while residents prepare to dig out from the heavy snowfall. Fortunately, the community hasn’t lost power yet.
