On a March 11 visit to the Nunavut legislature, players and coaches with Rankin Inlet's Bantam hockey team display the Bantam territorial championship cup they won March 10 when they beat the Iqaluit team 7-0. Lorne Kusugak, MLA for Rankin Inlet South and Whale Cover, officially recognized players Stephan Nukapiak, Jakob Voisey, Bubba Muktar, Randall Qiyuq, Ethan Mukpah, Wager Tatty, Ian Paniyuk, Nik Deagle, Sidney Nichol, Kaelan Collier, Tyrese Dias, Kalaa Tartuk, Nicholas Mukpah, Issaluk Tattuinee,Jaden Sigurdson and their fine coaches Darren Nichol, Eric Nukappiak and general manager Craig Collier.

“We have some of the best hockey coaching and volunteers in Rankin Inlet,” Kusugak said. “I encourage them to keep up the hard work because they produce champions.
