Photo: RCMP officers get trained on the “intoximeter”

From Nov. 4 to 8, ten RCMP officers from five detachments across Nunavut attended Intoximeter training in Iqaluit as part of initiative to crack down on impaired driving in the territory. During the course of the week, officers learned how to operate the Intox EC/IRII, better known as ‘Intoximeters,’ the instruments used to measure the alcohol impairment of drivers. Here, civilian instructor Tracy Cherlet of the RCMP’s Forensic laboratory in Edmonton goes over paperwork with officers Cst. Dustin Grant, Cst. Matt Augustine, and Cst. Graham Bourke.
