Photo: Read for 15 during literacy week

During Literacy Week in Nunavut, Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, the May Hakongak library in Cambridge Bay is hosting events to encourage young — like these two girls, Jewel (left) and Tiana (right) Maksagak — and old to read. On Sept. 28, the Nunavut Literacy Council is encouraging people to read for at least 15 minutes. Nunavut wants to challenge the Northwest Territories, which won the territorial “Read for 15” challenge last year. “The NWT has won the past two years so let’s all get out there and read” is the message from the Nunavut Literacy Council.
