Rankin Inlet reads for 15: Grade 8 students from Manni Ulujuk School join Grade 6 students from Simon Alaittuq School to “Read for 15″ on Sept. 25. During Nunavut Literacy Week, Sept. 22 to Sept. 28, Nunavut libraries, schools, and communities are holding activities designed to encourage people to read for 15 minutes. In 2012, the council said more than 6,500 Nunavummiut picked up a book, a magazine, a sewing pattern, “virtually anything,” and read for 15 minutes on the day of the “Read for 15” challenge.
