Joshua Nathan Kettler, 14, of Kuujjuaq, competes in the junior male Alaskan high kick event Nov. 28, as part of regional Arctic Winter Games trials held in Kuujjuaq this past weekend. Unlike the one or two-foot high kick events, where athletes entire bodies come off the ground, Alaskan high kick requires athletes to support themselves with one hand as they kick the suspended target, and hold their other foot with their free hand.
