Photo: Rough riding around the Pole

You can expect to encounter rough terrain if you insist on driving around the Arctic Ocean. But that’s what a group of Russians are doing. The members of Marine Live-Ice Automobile Expedition, who drive amphibious vehicles similar to those seen here, arrived at the North Pole earlier this month and are due in Resolute Bay in June. In 2014, they’ll head back to Russia heading west to Alaska and across the Bering Strait. (PHOTO COURTESY OF YEMELYA)
