The Nunavut Wildlife Management Board began public hearing at Iqaluit's Parish Hall March 11 to consider a management plan for the alarmingly low number of Baffin Island caribou. About 30 stakeholders were on hand for the opening of the meeting including members from all Qikiqtani hunters and trappers organizations as well as representatives from the Government of Nunavut, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., Parks Canada, the Qikiqtani Wildlife Board, the Kivalliq Wildlife Board and Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
