Arctic Bay youth pose here with a mound of scrap wood collected on the beach, during the Arctic Bay Cadets’ third annual community cleanup Sept. 12 which included collecting garbage and waste along the shoreline and also in town. The event is part of the cadets’ community service responsibility and this year, the North West Co. helped out with a grant from its environment fund — a pot of money created from the sale of plastic bags in Nunavut.
