An Iqaluit man is now being treated at Qikiqtani General Hospital for a gunshot wound to the chest, following an incident in south Iqaluit early on Nov. 23. The RCMP say they responded to a complaint about a man firing shots in the 100s area. When police arrived, a man pointed a firearm at them, then fled. Police found the man at house 238, arrested him, and took him to hospital. Police have not named the man. Another man is also being treated in hospital for what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries. Early in the afternoon of Nov. 23, these police barriers on Nipisa Street  were taken down. However, a police vehicle remains parked at the back of building 162, in front of a dwelling unit that appears to be a major focus of the police investigation. (PHOTO BY JIM BELL)
