Photo: Shuttle brings out people to Danish patrol vessel

A bright red shuttle prepares to bring back a load of people in Resolute Bay Aug. 18 to tour a Danish patrol vessel in from Thule, Greenland. Its captain invited the members of the community and military reservists participating in Operation Nanook on board for a visit. In 2010, Denmark and Canada signed a memorandum of understanding “on enhanced operational defence cooperation in the Arctic,” such as joint military exercises, staff exchanges and co-operation in rescue operations, which has led to Danish participation in Operation Nanook and other Arctic military exercises.
