Give me some space, man: Canadian astronaut David St.-Jacques visited Jaanimmarik school in Kuujjuaq March 19 to describe for students the journey that lead him to being selected as an official Canadian Space Agency astronaut in 2009. Just prior to becoming an astronaut, St.-Jacques, a medical doctor, was Co-chief of Medicine at Inuulitsivik Health Centre in Puvirnituq. Other than medicine, St.-Jacques’ training includes engineering and astrophysics. St.-Jacques is appearing at Iqaluit’s Frobisher Inn tonight, March 20, in the Koojesse room for a free talk on medicine in space from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. He will also be appearing at the Nunavut Research Centre in Iqaluit March 22 at 2 p.m. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
