The Saavittut, or “taking off from the shore,” pre-program for northern participants in the 2018 Students on Ice Arctic expedition took place at Nunavut Sivuniksavut on July 21-23. Youth from across the Arctic, including Nunavut, Nunatsiavut, Nunavik, Inuvialuit, Greenland and Alaska, came together in Ottawa to participate in a variety of activities in preparation for their journey.
