The sun sets beyond a hill dotted with inuksuit outside of Naujaat (Repulse Bay). Piita Irniq snapped this and other photos during a recent trip to his hometown. “When I left Naujaat in 1964,” he wrote on his Facebook page, “there were maybe 90 to 100 people. Now there are over 1,000. And there were only five buildings: three belonged to the Hudson’s Bay Company and two belonged to the Roman Catholic Mission. We lived in iglus, and tents in the summer time, then. There was no school, or health centre, no hamlet office or no airport… What a change!”
