Photo: Sustainable Iqaluit welcomes input

The City of Iqaluit aspires to a new sustainable future. Here, interpreter-translator Leah Inutiq, sustainability co-ordinator Robyn Campbell and interpreter-translator Andrew Dialla pose at the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum in front of a poster covered with suggestions for Iqaluit’s future — such as world youth volunteer groups, recycling programs to reduce waste, an addictions treatment centre, and improved access to post-secondary education, just to name a few. The poster is part of Iqaluit’s sustainable Iqaluit interactive community exhibit, which includes old photos, locally-produced videos and games. If you didn’t see the exhibit at the museum, you can see it May 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Nanook School in Apex. (PHOTO BY SAMANTHA DAWSON)
