A group of young men tend to their fishing hole on a recent trip outside of Puvirnituq. The group is taking part in a program called Pigiatsiaq — a life-skills project launched earlier this year which offers support to Nunavimmiut with addictions, mental health issues and those at risk of committing crimes or re-offending. The programming is almost all based on the land, with the goal of rebuilding a positive Inuit identify among its participants, coordinators say. Read more next week at NunatsiaqOnline.ca.
