Sarah Aiyout, 23, and her sons Victor Jr. Aiyout, four, and Jordee Aiyout, two, died in a murder-suicide through a fire set by the mother of the family, the Nunavut RCMP said Feb. 25 in a news release. The investigation into the Feb. 2 fire at an apartment building in Taloyoak continues, but RCMP investigators say they have concluded that “this matter is a murder-suicide.” Investigators said the fire was set deliberately. “Sarah Aiyout died in the fire along with her two sons; Victor Jr. Aiyout and Jordee Aiyout, as a result of Sarah’s actions,” police said.
