Photo: Teaching traditional sewing techniques in Clyde River

Ten women in Clyde River gathered in March this year to learn how to make kamiks thanks to a program run by the local non-profit Ilisaqsivik Society’s elders committee. Instructors Akitiq Sanguya and Geela Aipellee lead the three-week workshop. The program was so popular Ilisaqsivik is hoping to run it again soon so interested Clyde River residents should check back with Ilisaqsivik for updates. (PHOTO COURTESY ILISAQSIVIK)
