And the games begin: Team Nunavut junior girls, in blue, face off against Team Yukon at 9 a.m. at Iqaluit’s Arnaitok arena March 7 in the first of many exciting hockey games set to unfold this week in Nunavut’s capital. While Nuuk scrambles to rejig its sporting and cultural schedule after a March storm delayed flights into Greenland’s capital this past weekend, Iqaluit is primed for on-ice action. Nunavut’s bantam boys were squaring off against Team Alberta North as well Monday morning at Iqaluit’s Arctic Winter Games arena. Hockey games continue today at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at both arenas.
