Patricia York, centre, an adminstrative agent at the Tulattavik health centre in Kuujjuaq, was recognized May 14 for training she recently completed through the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS) and its partner, Montreal’s Cégep Marie-Victorin. The Kuujjuaq-based ceremony honoured 28 Inuit health care staff from Nunavik’s Ungava coast, who have taken part in training programs through the Montreal college since 2010. “These training programs have contributed in keeping Inuit staff up-to-date on psychosocial practices, knowledge of the health and social services structure and many other skills essential to their everyday work,” said Minnie Grey, executive director of the NRBHSS, in a May 14 release.
