Photo: The buntings are back

You know it’s spring when you see snow buntings hopping around — even on the snow. The tiny birds, common throughout the Canadian Arctic, are back in the Hudson Bay community of Sanikiluaq, as this April 11 photo by local photographer Sarah Meeko shows. Buntings have also been spotted in the western Nunavut town of Cambridge Bay and in Nunavut’s capital, Iqaluit. (PHOTO BY SARAH MEEKO)
