The first sun of 2016 in Cambridge Bay peeked over the horizon earlier this month, but cloudy skies and blowing snow prevented locals from enjoying its golden glow. The sun finally showed Jan. 15 at 12:15 p.m. Light from the sun’s rays penetrated the space beneath the old Hudson’s Bay Co. building above the shoreline and painted the snow there coral pink.
