Photo: The power of a polar bear on the run

After hunters in North Baffin harvested a bowhead whale in the fall of 2014, they left the skeleton on the shore of Baffin Bay, an irresistible treat for polar bears who flocked to the site in great numbers in November to feast on the carcass and ply the open waters. Clyde River photographer Niore Iqalukjuak took dozens of photos of the bears at the time and recently uploaded some new ones to his Facebook page including this one, of a polar bear, mid-flight, heading into the sea.
