Photo: The summer of rain and ice

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

The rain let up after two days in Iqaluit Aug. 27 and residents were treated to a calm, windless evening. Many residents managed to catch a rare peal of thunder and flash of lightning Aug. 26. The storm brought more ice into Frobisher Bay, which has yet to be completely ice-free this summer. Environment Canada predicts normal high and low temperatures for Iqaluit for this week with highs of 7 C and overnight lows just above freezing. (PHOTO BY THOMAS ROHNER)
