Photo: The Tandberg lies off Cambridge Bay

Flying a Norwegian flag, the Tandberg Polar tug and its pontoon barge lie close to the half-submerged wreck of Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen’s ship, the Maud. A Norwegian group plans to lift that ship onto the barge next summer and leave for Norway, where eventually the Maud will displayed at a museum in Asker, Norway. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
