Photo: The toys arrive!

The toys arrive! Soldiers unload a pallet of toys from a C-130 Hercules Dec. 17 at the Iqaluit airport. People in Toronto donated the toys during Toronto Zoo’s toy drive last month and the city’s recent Santa Claus parade as part of a two year-old fundraising drive called “Toys for the North.” The offloaded toys were delivered to the RCMP hangar where volunteers with the RCMP will prepare and distribute the toys to communities across Nunavut, with help from First Air.
