A few dozen Iqalummiut gathered in front of city’s elders centre Sept. 9 in to hold a symbolic vigil on the eve of World Suicide Prevention Day. Nunavut’s Embrace Life Council organized the vigil and has more events planned this week, including a youth rock concert at Inukshuk High School Sept. 10, a free barbecue at the RCMP detachment Sept. 12 and an Amazing Race event Sept. 13.
