Photo: Toonik Tyme X-Country takes to the sea ice

Tommy Tremblay crosses the finish line at the Toonik Tyme festival’s cross country ski race, April 6, by the sea ice in Iqaluit. Tremblay finished a close second behind Matthew Kwon, who won a beaver skin scarf for his effort. Organizers also gave prizes for best costume in the fun competition, which was open to all. More than 25 racers of all ages took to a 3.5-kilometre trail that circled out into the bay and back to the shoreline behind the library.
