Visitors to the iron mine in Kiruna, Sweden work on their laptop computers half a kilometre underground May 15. After their May 15 ministerial meeting, Arctic Council officials lunched at the Vistor’s Centre of the LKAB mine, which has all the comforts of home — despite being deep underground. The largest iron mine in the world, some say one of the most advanced, but it’s also the reason much of Kiruna will soon be leveled. Read more about the mine later on Nunatsiaqonline.ca.
