Veronica Manilak of Rankin Inlet, winner of a Diamond Jubilee medal for her contributions to art and culture, stands Jan. 25 with Premier Eva Aariak, Rankin Inlet South-Whale Cove MLA Lorne Kusugak and Commissioner Edna Elias. Manilak is known for sewing beautiful tapestries, helping to keep traditional Inuit songs alive and she’s an active member of the Rankin Inlet elders traditional drum dance group.
