Welcome to the Allavvik building, owned by Qikiqtaaluk Properties Ltd., a subsidiary of Qikiqtaaluk Corp. and part of the Inuksagait Plaza collection of commercial and residential properties.  Nunavut MP Leona Aglukkaq attended a grand opening ceremony for the $9-million, 100,000 square-foot building held June 21 and announced that the Public Health Agency of Canada will occupy space there in the near future, when the agency opens an office in Iqaluit. Allavvik also houses the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board and the head office of the anchor tenant, the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, who signed a 10-year lease.
