These 15 women who participated in a recent “Women Building Futures In the Kitikmeot” workshop in Cambridge Bay now know more about the workplace culture and communication skills they’ll need to succeed non-traditional construction careers. Participants at the five-day workshop, paid for by the Kitikmeot Inuit Association, Kitikmeot Corp., federal and territorial governments, Nunavut Arctic College, MMG, Xstrata Zinc, Sabina Gold and Silver Corp., Aqsaqniq Airways/Air Tindi, included, in the back row, instructor Norma Klimack, Megan Mala, Heather Tularialik, Valerie Puqiqnak, instructor Krista Laboucane, Samantha Kaosoni, Bonnie Kayaitok, Kamele Isnor and in the front row, Hannah Jayko, Marjorie Lyall, Maria Kayasark, Shawna Kootook, Eva Mingilgak, Lisa Ayalik and Anna Grace Aaluk.
