Photo: Proud hockey novices display their awards

Kuujjuaq’s Umimmait Aiva Lingard (left) and Tuukka Angnatuk, proudly show off the brand new t-shirts and mini Stanley cups they got following their first full season of hockey as novice players. The awards were given out as part of Kuujjuaq’s Annual Hockey Gala held April 14. Hosted by Mayor Tunu Napartuk, the minor league awards recognized many players, male and female, and all the coaches who made the season possible. Kuujjuaq Minor Hockey Association President Michael Felteau singled out Danny Fafard, the association’s hockey instructor in chief for his tireless dedication to minor hockey.
