Cathy Towtongie, NTI President, and Rankin Inlet Mayor Robert Janes, left of Towtongie, along with representatives of Atuqtuarvik Corporation, cut the ribbon on the corporation's new office building in Rankin Inlet Sept. 27. Atuqtuarvik Corporation, a business development corporation created by NTI and Nunavut Trust in 2000, provides loans and equity investments to Inuit-owned businesses. According to their 2011-2015 strategic plan, from 2000 to 2010, Atuqtuarvik grew its capital investment fund from $50 million to $72 million and, in that same time frame, increased investments to Inuit businesses from $4 million to $47 million.
