Photo: Louis Pilakapsi honoured with building dedication

A respected leader, Pilakapsi had a long career serving Kivallirmiut including such jobs as president of the Aqiggiaq Hunters and Trappers Organization, vice-chair of the Keewatin Wildlife Federation, deputy mayor of the Hamlet of Rankin Inlet, and board director with the Kivalliq Inuit Association and Nunavut Tungavik Incorporated. He was also a member of the Canadian Rangers. The KIA moved into their new offices earlier this year in a building which also houses Sakku Drugs, owned by Sakku Investments Corporation.
